Ps. 119:9-16
Many times we make statements such as “I wish I had an instruction manual for life.” Even when we buy something that has an instruction manual, such as a new video game, cell phone, Ipad or other items that require assembly, how many of us read those manuals? As a people, we are not the best at reading instruction booklets, training manuals and things of this sort. We often attempt things on our own thinking, “I can do it” or “I can figure it out on my own.” Then there is asking someone for help with directions when we are lost. We so want to do things by ourselves that we will even get lost before asking for help. Once everything is a mess we say, “I should have, I could have, I wish I had…”
The good news is that if we take the time there is an instruction manual for life. One that tells us who we are, what we can have, and how to get where we need to be. God gave us His instructions on life in a book called the Holy Bible. It is comprised of 66 books and even though it was written long ago, it still applies to us today. His word is the same yesterday, today and forever. The only problem is we don’t read it till we need something. Life is like that open book test, in school, that I never did well on. I would think, “Open book? I can find the answers when I take the test.” Only to discover that the teacher would use the most obscure things form the chapter for answers to the questions. They never did use any of the bold face words. If we wish to be successful and have the blessed life God intends for us, we need to take the time to read the owner’s manual of life. Then when trouble comes we can count it all joy! (James 1:2- 3)
So today, are you willing to take the challenge and spend time each day reading the instructional book on how you are to live your life? #Bible
